Stone Polymer Composite from Material to Box

The technical framework behind SPC packaging, from mineral and polymer to a finished, printed box. Process details stay at the level a buyer needs — not a recipe.

Stone Polymer Composite from Material to Box

01

Stone Polymer Composite

SPC is a mineral-filled polymer composite material developed for packaging applications. On this website SPC never refers to flooring.

02

Material system

Three families of ingredients: a mineral filler, a polymer matrix and functional additives that support processing and performance. The proportions and the specific additives are project and process know-how and are not published.

03

Composite formation

Mineral particles are dispersed in the polymer matrix during compounding so the resulting compound behaves as one consistent material when it is extruded. This is a dispersion within a matrix, not a chemical fusion of stone and plastic.

04

Hollow board

The compound is extruded into a thin twin-wall sheet: two thin skins joined by closely spaced internal ribs, leaving hollow channels along the extrusion direction. Thickness and rib spacing are selected per application.

05

Printing and converting

The board surface is prepared and printed, then cut, die-cut, punched, folded and welded or assembled into box structures. Printing is basic colour printing for identification and branding.

06

Finished packaging

Trays, lidded boxes, sleeves and structured boxes with partitions, pads, hand holes, ventilation and drainage — each developed around the application and evaluated on samples.

What we publish, and what we do not

We describe the material concept, the board structure and the process model. We do not publish formulation ratios, additive systems, polymer grades, screw geometry, processing temperatures or operating sequences. Test methods and results are shared per project.
